Please join me tomorrow at Dickinson High School for the DSWA Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event. From 8AM—2PM, residents can drop off electronic items such as: old computers, printers, CD players, microwaves, telephones, televisions, game systems, fax machines, etc. From 8AM—12PM, residents can also bring up to two boxes for shredding. This event is restricted to Delaware residents ONLY! It will be held rain or shine. Next Saturday, March 3rd, there will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection at Frawley (Blue Rocks) Stadium from 8AM—4PM. NCC Councilman Tim Sheldon's Biography
Tim Sheldon was elected to New Castle County Council, Ninth District in November 2004. The Ninth District boundaries lie from Prices Corner, Kirkwood Highway to Newark, north to the Pike Creek area then west to Lancaster Pike. Tim has served as Chairman for the Personnel Committee for New Castle County Council. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Special Services Committee for New Castle County Council.
Tim resides in Roseville Park, Newark with his two daughters, Jamie and Kyle. He attends Holy Angels Church. Tim is the former Vice-President of the Delaware State AFL-CIO and the Delaware Building Trades Council. Tim started as an apprentice in the Bricklayers Union and is now the Chief Administrative Officer for the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local Union No. 1 of PA/DE.
It doesn't just stop there. Tim is a former Vice-Chairman of the United Way of Delaware. Councilman Sheldon also serves on the Delaware Solid Waste Authority Board. He was instrumental in bringing the single stream recycling to the State of Delaware. Additionally, he is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Western YMCA. There are several volunteer opportunities that are memorable to Tim. He donated over 100 hours helping build the Gilda Radnor House for Ovarian Cancer victims in Bensalem, PA. Tim's union was chosen to do brickwork at the Py Family house in Philadelphia, PA featured on the ABC TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
